About me
A Dorset celebrant
Hello and congratulations! You’ve got something you want to celebrate, and I’m here to help.

I'm Janet - lover of the outdoors, cats, and curling up with a good book and huge bar of chocolate. I live in Shaftesbury, just on the borders of Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, and my favourite pastime is walking in the local countryside (preferably with a friend and a cheerful dog) and marvelling at the beautiful place I live in.

I am hugely proud to be part of the Humanists UK celebrant network, and would love to work with you to create a bespoke humanist ceremony to mark an important occasion for you, your family and friends.

Why am I a humanist celebrant? Put simply – I like people. Every person I meet has their own rich and varied history and their own way of taking joy from life. I am fascinated by each and every person and their individual story, and love finding creative and fun ways to tell those stories to the rest of the world.

My role is to create a meaningful and joyous celebration for you which is an expression of your personality, style and image of your perfect day. I spend time getting to know you so that you can feel completely secure that I will write a script truly reflecting who you are and why you want to celebrate.

The wonderful thing about a humanist ceremony is that it is all about you. You choose the location, time of day, and set the tone. You can be as serious or as light hearted as you want, and can include all sorts of personal elements, such as vows you have written, readings and music that mean something to you, or a symbolic moment to mark this memorable occasion.

Each humanist ceremony is an expression of heartfelt emotion. You are individuals, your story is unique and your ceremony will be too.
Wedding
Create a wedding ceremony together with me which tells all the people you love about you as a couple and your view of the world. You will have a bespoke wedding ceremony that you, your family and friends will always look back on with joy.
